INSPECTIONS

Home inspectors perform a noninvasive, visual survey of readily accessible systems per ASHI/InterNACHI standards: roof, exterior, drainage, structure, attic/insulation, electrical, plumbing, water heater, HVAC, windows/doors, interiors, and basic built-ins. They operate normal controls, document material defects/safety concerns, and deliver a written photo report. They do not: open walls, move belongings, make repairs, estimate remaining life, ensure code/permit compliance, evaluate concealed areas, or test for pests, mold, radon, asbestos, lead, sewer laterals, wells/septic, pools/spas, sprinklers, specialty systems—nor provide appraisals, warranties, or insurance decisions.

Here is a great article written by a home inspector.
